He is coming soon…
God is so good. First I want to say congratulations to my amazing brother Ryan, and his beautiful wife and my best friend Jessie. Yesterday Zara Ira Grandon finally graced us all with her presence! She is such a beautiful baby girl, and I can already declare that God is going to do some amazing and wonderful things through and with her. She is a beautiful princess of the Most High God! She is my precious niece and my beautiful goddaughter. I couldn’t be a prouder auntie!
I wanted to share with you all something that happened this morning. Today I was reminded how important it is to have faith like a child. I was working on laundry when Eden came running to me saying excitedly, “Momma, come outside with me! I am going to say a prayer that Jesus would come right now! Come sit ouside and wait for Him with me!” Of course I dropped everything to go outside with her to hear her precious prayer that instantly brought tears to my eyes, “Dear Jesus, I pray that you would come and take us all to heaven right now! I want to see you. Thank you, Jesus. Amen!” Then she got me and her two sisters to sit down next to her and wait for His coming. She was in her princess dress and princess crown. She was dressed for the occasion!
After waiting a few minutes I explained to her that Jesus came, and He is here right now! He is so proud of her, and He loves her so much! He can’t wait to come and pick her up and take her along with us to heaven. Jesus is coming very soon, and when enough people believe in Him and ask Him to come get us just as she does, then He will come. I told her, that might be today, tomorrow, in a week, or in a few years, but we have to keep waiting and praying eagerly that He will come… just as she did.
“looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,”
Titus 2:13 NKJV
I have been crying tears of joy, and humility since this event. Joy because my little girl so eagerly desires to see Jesus’ arrival. Humility because- well who wouldn’t be humbled after their FOUR year old spoke such truth, faith and hope into their lives? I felt so convicted that I fell to my knees in repentance, joy and adoration for my King who will indeed come very soon to take us home.
I want to await His Arrival just as eagerly as my daughter does. She comes up to me EVERYDAY telling me how much she wants to go to heaven, and with a new question about what it’s like. Around once a week she tells a new person about the dream she had a month ago where she and her whole family were driving in our van when our whole van began to fly up toward the sky to meet Jesus who was waiting to greet us on the clouds. Then she tells them with complete confidence, “My dream is going to come true!” What faith!
He really is coming so soon. There is sign after sign pointing for us to look up, for our redemption draws near! Today I was reminded to have faith like a child. After witnessing what that means today, I was eager to share what that felt like with all of you. I hope that this story fans a flame in you. God is eagerly waiting to bring us home away from all the heartache and pain this world brings. How much more should we be eagerly awaiting our rescuer? I love you guys so much. God bless you!
Many of you have already heard this song, but I had to share it anyway!
“Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.””
Luke 18:17 NKJV
